Ingredients to make 13 scones
- 500g Middletons Gluten Free Scone Mix
- 130g Butter (softened)
- 170ml Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 100g Sultanas
Method
- Place weighed out scone mix into a mixing bowl
- Add the softened butter to the scone mix and mix on slow speed until it resembles fine breadcrumbs
- Add the sultanas to the mix
- Mix together for a few seconds or until evenly distributed
- Add the milk and egg together in a jug and add to the scone mix
- Mix on slow speed for one minute or until a dough is formed
- Roll out dough to approximately ¾” thick and then cut with the desired cutter
- Collect trimmings and repeat
- Place onto a greased or lined baking tray and brush with an egg wash
- Allow the scones to rest for 15 minutes before baking
- Bake in a pre-heated oven at 220°C / 425°F / Gas Mark 6 for 10-15 minutes until risen and golden brown
